ABOUT US
The Department of Chemical Engineering was founded in the year 2535 (B.E.) and currently, it produces engineers who work in various industries such as petrochemical, chemical, energy, and environmental sectors. Our chemical engineering program offers flexible opportunities for students. They can choose to focus on research for postgraduate studies, address real-world problems in industrial settings to become high-quality engineers, or explore master's level subjects like economics, management, or law. This program is an example of an accepted curriculum at Thammasat University.
In the year 2540
The department offers a Master of Chemical Engineering program that focuses on research. In this program, students work closely with their advisors to conduct research on various challenging issues. Some research areas that faculty members in the department are interested in include bioprocess engineering, polymers and materials science, energy and combustion, catalysis, separation processes, and computer-aided modeling and simulation.
In the year 2540
The department offers a Master's program in Chemical Engineering that emphasizes research. In this program, students work closely with their advisors to conduct research on various challenging problems. Examples of research areas that faculty members in the department are interested in include bioprocess engineering, polymers and materials science, energy and combustion, catalysis, separation processes, and computer-aided modeling and simulation.
In the year 2549
The department has introduced a program in Energy and Environmental Management Technology to equip engineers and entrepreneurs with knowledge and the ability to apply that knowledge in managing production processes for maximum efficiency in the energy and environmental aspects.
In the year 2555
The department has established a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) program in the field of Energy and Environmental Management Technology. This program is designed for students who have completed their master's degrees in the aforementioned field and wish to further their studies, contribute to the nation, and meet the future market demands.
***Our department is considered a small-sized department that fosters close interaction between professors, undergraduate students, and master's students. It provides opportunities for them to get to know each other and work closely. It encourages the exchange of ideas and collaborative problem-solving. In the current academic year 2015, there are 207 undergraduate students and 183 master's/doctoral students, and the number of students is expected to continue increasing. The department is well aware that it needs to continuously develop its teaching and learning methods to ensure progress in the future.
